Item: 1/32 USAAF Ground Crew Cold Weather, WWII and Korea

Master Details expands its growing line of large scale figures with a new release to compliment their excellent Korean War jet pilot figure. Often referred to as the “forgotten war,” Korean War subjects have been largely forgotten by hobby kit manufacturers. Master Details fills this gap with an excellent figure in unique garb.

The figure itself, conforms to Master Details usual high standards for detail and value. The figure is depicted in USAF issue cold weather gear sporting an accurate B-9 Parka with fur lined hood and cuffs. While simple in presentation, consisting of only three parts (2 arms, body), the figure represents some of the finest sculpting and proportions yet seen from this manufacturer. In addition, this little kit will be a breeze to assemble. There are no casting blocks on the arms which seat positively and accurately in sockets on the torso. The main body part has only minimal casting blocks on the bottoms of the feet which can be eliminated in a matter of minutes with a file and sanding stick.

No filling should be required to have the kit ready for painting. I would be tempted in this case to use white glue for assembly and simply wipe any excess glue away with a damp q-tip and it should be ready to prime and paint. All in all, this is a super little kit, an ideal choice for one’s first aftermarket figure and a unique accessory for your Kinetic F-86 or Czech Model F-80.
